The CDC has noticed a dramatic increase in three commonly known sexually transmitted diseases: gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis. 90% of reports reported have been from men. Studies show that many of the men affect from these diseases, syphilis in particular, are bisexual and gay men.

Who is to blame for the dramatic increase in STDs among men?

Diseases like chlamydia and gonorrhea often go undetected due to the  lack of symptoms, which is a why they are part of the top STDs that have increased. People with chlamydia or gonorrhea have carried on with life not knowing they have an STD until it strikes them when they least expect it.

Bisexual and gay men are mainly affected by the increase due to society’s acceptance towards the LGBT community. Society has changed, people disregard many of the values the older generations have held sacred. The generations rising up have no structure, even things like marriage are toyed with.

The blame for the dramatic increase in STDs among men falls on the lack of values that society holds sacred.
