A man in Houston, just 19, died while taking a selfie with a gun. The gun went off and shot him in his throat killing him instantly. His name is unidentified but the young man was to be starting community college the very next day, unfortunately his family is left to morn his death.
Who is to blame for the death of this young man?
I am a 17-year-old teen and I can be convicted as an adult. What does that exactly mean? It means the government believes that I am old enough to know what is right and wrong morally and immorally. Therefore I, as a 17 year-old, know that guns are dangerous, and holding one can put anyone around me and myself at risk.
Another factor to remember is that he was taking a selfie; media is now becoming the outlet of influence amongst younger groups. The main possible reason he was posing with a gun was so that he could post it online. It wasn’t like he had the gun for rational reason.
In America we have the right to bare arm, and I believe that to an extent. My view is that you can have a gun for a legitimate reason. People shouldn’t have guns unless they have risk factor near them.
This young man died for a selfe, for social media, and for his own ignorance.
The entire fault goes to him; he is an adult male, everything this man had done in his life he has taken consequences for.
