A few decades ago most of the foods consumed by people were home cooked and about 50% or more natural than food consumed in present day. Junk food and eating out was not common or as much of a necessity as today. The world has grown to be addicted to artificially processed food.
Who is to blame for the decrease in eating real food?
Companies spend countless time and money researching flavor that make people want more. These company are continuing to learn how to enhance flavors that can make consumers addicted. Genetically modified flavor in chips, cookies, even cereal make foods like mash potatoes, steak, and gravy seem bland.
The FDA is becoming more lenient as time goes on. Just recently they have issued the okay to genetically modify salmon into a bigger size; they have also issued rights to restaurants and grocery stores to not to tell consumers if they are selling genetically modified salmon. The FDA is in charge of putting regulations on what the food industry can and cannot do.
Who is to blame for the decrease in eating real foods? All blame falls on the FDA for being so lenient towards food regulations.
