This is the window in the art room at McEachern High School. This is an assignment that the art teacher does with her AP students that gives the students an opportunity to leave their legacy behind. The art teacher, Danielle Mege encourages the students to draw something that will celebrate art. Due to the art rooms location right behind the football field the window art draws the attention of fans that attend the football games, soccer games or anything else that goes on at the stadium. The picture on the left represents an artists’ passion for art and drawing, which is what the black heart symbolizes. The hand gesture of the thumb and the finger on the picture to the right is mimicking something called the view finder. In this image the artist is trying to find perspective, she is using her fingers to make the view finder, through which she is looking at the world. The picture with the all black background is supposed to show the mental struggle that artist go through in the way that they look at the world differently. The paint that is used to paint the windows is acrylic paints. Acrylic paint is a fast drying paint made of pigment suspended in acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylic paints are water soluble, but become water resistant when dry. On the window the artist can only paint with the Acrylic paint.
