Man has always loved to highlight themselves with jewelry. Jewelry has become an industry over time. Jewelry is often seen to be a statement of a personal style.

The word Jewelry is a form of the Latin word, jocale which translates in English as a jewel. Early jewelry can be divided across three ancient civilizations Egypt, India, and China.

Jewelry was first invented by the Cro-Magnons, who are ancestors of Homo Sapiens. The jewelry included beads made of nassarius shells, bone, wood, stone, and various animal teeth. As technology increased Man found many different ways to create jewelry.

Art teacher Danielle Mege has provided students with the privilege of building jewelry in her art club. Mege includes two different types of jewelry building, they use torches, saunters and hand fabrications. The students work mostly with copper and brass. Mege advises her students to use colors that they think will compliment the color of the metal to avoid color clash.
