Today, our Dreamy Destination is the culture-filled oriental jewel of China.

I’ve been there before…in my dreams. From what I’ve seen and heard China sounds incredible. More specifically, I would love to go to Hong Kong. Why will be explained in my blog and by the end you’ll probably put China on your bucket list.

Hong Kong is an autonomous zone that was colonized by the British immediately after the end of the Opium War (1839-1842). It wouldn’t be until July 1st, 1997 that Hong Kong would become independent.

If you travel anywhere outside the western world but hate the idea of leaving home then Hong Kong is the place for you. Everything about it; from the city life, to the clothing to the stores, enchants you. But what’s truly unique is the mixture between Western culture and oriental culture. I like to call it the Western Jewel of the East.

Hong Kong is beautiful, but because of the intense industry the air is rancid and smog-filled. One breathe of this stuff could make you cough your lungs out, but what’s weird is that the people that live in Hong Kong live an extremely long time, having one of the longest live expectancies in the world.
