It’s no secret that my gear is a pride and joy for me. In fact, I spent most of Saturday reorganizing my desktop for maximum cool and wow factor. Here’s what I did and how I did it.

What I did

Essentially, I wanted my desktop to be a way to easily see what’s happening on my PC at a given time. There are different variations of this layout based on my situation. For instance, the album art can be moved off screen if there isn’t any for a specific song or to save space.

This is created through Rainmeter, a desktop customization tool that is a mainstay for projects like this. Rainmeter then plugs into third-party plugins that make up each part of the desktop. Here are the plugins I use:

  • Cleartext: For the Track ID on the bottom of the screen
  • Win 10 Widgets: For the sidebar on the right hand side of the screen
  • CoveR: For the album art
  • Radian: For the visualizer below the Track ID
  • VisBubble: For the visualizer surrounding the Album Art

Once Rainmeter installs, each plugin can then be installed through the app and adjusted to your liking.
