Microsoft has launched an update to Windows 10 that promises to be all about creators.

Literally dubbed the “Creators Update,” it brings new features to the operating system that aim to make life easier to the creatives among us. Most of these features don’t speak to me as someone who mainly focuses on video editing and scribing, but there are artists that will benefit from these features.

Let’s start with Paint 3D, which is the evolution of the infamous 2D tool that has graced Windows for generations. As the name implies, you can create 3D objects from scratch or iterate on someone else’s work. When you’re done, you can share your work with the world on social media or Redmond’s Remix 3D community.

Speaking of Remix 3D, it’s a Pinterest-like community where like-minded creators can share their creators and get inspired by others.

Cortana can now connect with other apps like Microsoft’s ToDo (RIP Wunderlist) to keep your head above water.

Microsoft is also pushing its recently-acquired Beam game streaming service, allowing gamers to broadcast their gameplay with one tap.

You can also now reduce the amount of blue light emitted from your device at night with “Night Light,” which gives your screen a yellowish hue. This is meant to block out the blue light that has been shown to negatively impact your sleep.

Lastly, Microsoft Edge (yes, that thing you still call Internet Explorer for the six seconds you use it before installing Chrome) now lets you set aside tabs for later. This was built specifically with researching students in mind.
