A sold-out Cobb Energy Centre has been transformed into a “Battleground of the Gods” as teams of gamers compete for a million dollar grand prize in the SMITE world championships.

John Salter of Cartersville was on the team that won the title last year.  “It was just in your face action,” he tells Channel 2 Action News.

HI-REZ Studios CEO Todd Harris helped develop the game 11 years ago in Alpharetta.  Players role-play as they try to (electronically) annihilate each other.
