New tab pages are one of the easiest and most noticeable ways to change your experience in your favorite desktop web browser. Here are three of my favorites:

Momentum (Chrome)

Momentum makes Chrome’s New Tab page a place for inspiration.

Really, the extension comes with four main pieces: a photograph used as a background image right front in center, an inspirational quote along the bottom, and additional information like the weather for your current city, the time, and a personal greeting. Finally, a to-do list is built into the extension, where you can add and cross off tasks as you wish.

Live Start Page (Chrome)

Live Start Page – live wallpaper for Google Chrome

Live Start Page adds to Momentum’s premise by adding timelapse video into every tab.

Currently, you can set several live motion videos of subjects like New York City and San Francisco, and static backgrounds as well.

You can also customize how everything looks in settings, and double-clicking the background access the screen dial of your most visited sites.

Delight (Chrome)

Lastly, Delight is Momentum for timelapses. The extension combines a beautiful timelapse with most-visited pages, the weather, your Chrome apps, bookmarks, and history.

However, if you just want to focus on that timelapse, you can too by turning it all off.
